Project Overview

We successfully completed the construction of the largest EV Hub in Scotland for SSE Enterprise. This turnkey project involved developing the entire site from scratch to create a fully functional solution.

Client

SSE Enterprise, a leading energy supplier in the UK, is committed to supporting the transition to electric vehicles by investing in robust and widespread EV charging infrastructure.

Objective

To design, develop, and deliver a comprehensive EV charging hub that caters to the increasing demand for electric vehicle charging within Scotland, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and scalability.

Scope

Our role involved constructing multiple charging hubs and acting as the Electrical Principal Contractor for these sites. This extensive work was executed under a nationwide framework agreement with SSE.

• Complete site development from initial design to final implementation

Turnkey Delivery

Our team provided a turnkey solution encompassing all aspects of the project—from civil engineering to electrical installations. This included the setup of substations' network connections, EV chargers, parking spaces, and the necessary foundations to support canopy installations.

Principal Contractor Role

As the principal contractor, we managed and delivered the client’s programme efficiently. This included coordinating with multiple stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and maintaining a strict project timeline.

Challenges and Mitigation

Site Development

Developing the site from scratch posed several challenges, including geographical and environmental considerations. Through meticulous planning and execution, we overcame these hurdles, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.

Coordination with Stakeholders

Ensuring seamless communication and coordination with various stakeholders, including key suppliers and network operators, was crucial. Our dedicated team managed these relationships efficiently, facilitating timely and effective collaboration.
